About sunny
I grew up with a solid appreciation for nature, instilled in me by my beautiful mother who would exclaim, '“Pay attention!” to any and all growing things, in particular the firsts: crocuses in spring and lightning bugs in summer, turning leaves and heavy snow clouds. This way of life carried into my adulthood and even though I had gone to school for Musical Theatre, the engaging details and exquisite abundance of nature prevailed in capturing my imagination and filling my sketchbooks with ideas. How could these seed pods and leaves cascade from lobes or rest above the heart in silver or ride against the hip tooled on an heirloom leather bag? Can this beach rock I found be sculpted into a favorite ‘rock candy’ shape on the Cab King? Sorting the details is my favorite mystery and smithing and tooling are a joy. I live in the Cascade mountains of Oregon with my husband, our son and four friendly cats, tromping through the woods with a curious eye, paying close attention indeed.
